Boys and Bible Stories

I like to think that God had little boys in mind when he inspired Biblical writers to record stories of strong, heroic male characters.  David slaying a giant with a slingshot, Joshua and his army marching around Jerico, Daniel in a lions' den, Moses dividing the Red Sea--just to name a few. Those ancient stories could rival any contemporary superhero adventure. The Bible events appeal to the "action" mindset of boys, while also bringing about valuable spiritual lessons.  Boys who many not want to read anything else can be persuaded to enjoy a book featuring a hero conquering an enemy in God's name.  Let's make sure that the boys in our care, and girls as well, have the chance to learn these wonderful, exciting stories.
