Through the Year

Broccoli and Blessings
November 16, 2012 By M. J. Maynard

Broccoli and Blessings

Thanksgiving Day is a big deal with my family.  We get together with several aunts, uncles, and cousins along with our immediate family for what is easily the best meal of the year.  I always take this broccoli casserole, and I thought you might like to try it:

                      BROCCOLI CASSEROLE

2 10 oz. pkg. frozen chopped broccoli

1 med. onion

2 eggs

1 c. grated cheddar cheese

2/3 c. mayonnaise

1 can mushroom soup

tsp. garlic powder

tsp. pepper

1 c. dried bread crumbs

Cook broccoli and drain.  Chop onion in

small pieces.  Beat eggs.  Combine all

ingredients except crumbs in casserole.

Mix thoroughly.  Top with crumbs and

bake 35 min. or until lightly browned

and bubbly in 350 oven.  Serves four to

six.

But enough about the food--the Thanksgiving season is also a big deal when you take time to consider your blessings from the Lord.  Each year I try to think of something new to add to my "thankful" list--something for which I have never offered gratitude.  This year it is the opportunity to minister through the Sunday Bells books.

It is my prayer that all of you have a happy Thanksgiving season.  What new blessing will you add to your "thankful" list this year?
