Tough Times
February 15, 2013 By M. J. Maynard

Tough times.  Everyone goes through them, at one time or another.  For me, the last four months have been especially trying.  I have had a family member involved in an accident, one with a chronic infection that led to several hospitalizations and surgery, another that needed an emergency room visit, and, the worst-- one lost to a terminal illness.

But, tough times bring us closer to God.  My life verse through these valleys has been Isaiah 41:10 ( NIV)--"So do not fear, for I am with you;  do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."  I write this today with firm assurance that these words are true.  I have felt that righteous right hand upholding me every day.

Does this verse have special meaning to you?  What scripture do you lean upon during the tough times?
